Larose Perganson 2009

Larose Perganson Haut Médoc

2009
Change vintage

Tasting

Very intense colour, deep and very slightly tiled. The nose is attractive, with white chocolate, plum and of a rare intensity. The palate is full, even creamy, with a well-integrated tannic structure of great finesse. The finish is both very long and smooth. Full and harmonious, it remains one of the great vintages of the decade. To be decanted just before tasting.

PARKER 90/100

A sleeper of the vintage and impressive is their cuvee called Larose Perganson, which in 2009 is a blend of 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Merlot and the rest Petit Verdot. It has the silkiness of its sibling, but is fuller-bodied, with more layers of fruit and glycerin and a heady finish (14.3% alcohol). It is opulent and pure, with loads of cassis, black raspberry and licorice notes backed up with some subtle oak. Drink it over the next decade.

Neal Martin  tasting London Sept 11 :

2009 Château Larose Perganson 86
Tasted at the Cru Bourgeois 2009 tasting in London. There is certainly a touch of under-ripeness on the nose of the Larose Perganson 2009. The palate is medium-bodied with bold, succulent tannins on the entry, although the finish is a little overdone and lacks a little delineation. Tasted September 2011.
