LAROSE PERGANSON Haut Médoc
Dark ruby colour with some crimson reflections. Very pleasant aromatic complexity with fresh red fruit (strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant), white fruit and hyacinth. Full and fleshy on the palate, perfect balance, almost magical. Very nice integrated tannic structure, which gives the impression it will never give way.
The 2010 vintage was promising and the promise was kept, while for the 2018 vintage everything is already there!
Haut Médoc - Cru Bourgeois
Bordeaux (Saint-Laurent du Médoc/France)
Température de service :
26 hectares of vines
SOIL : 60% gravel from the Quaternary, 40% clay-limestone
AVERAGE AGE OF VINES : 35 years old
PLANTING DENSITY : 6 600 vines per hectare
After a very wet first six months (rainfall up 40% on the thirty-year average), without sun (a record in Bordeaux for the lowest sunshine), which set back bud burst and flowering by around a week, we then moved to a completely opposite climate with barely 60mm of rain in July, August and September, temperatures 2.3°C higher than the thirty-year average, and a temperature sum up 10% just before the start of harvest.
The first consequence of these very wet first six months was pressure from mildew of an intensity never before seen in our latitudes and significant crop losses of up to 90%, especially in the area from southern Pauillac down to Bordeaux.
The second consequence of the three-month drought that preceded the harvest was a strong reduction in the berry weight and juice volume, as much as a 30% loss in the gravel and sandy-gravel areas.
- 50% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 50% Merlot
FINAL BLEND :
- 56% Cabernet Sauvignon
- 44% Merlot
24th September to 8th October
